Decision Analysis Workshop
An apt decision is the need of an hour. This workshop deals with the various tools and techniques to understand important facets of decision-making process, which minimizes the cost of decision. Decision analysis is a set of formal tools that can help managers make more informed decisions in the face of uncertainty. Although applying even the most rigorous decision analysis does not guarantee infallibility, it can help you make sound judgments over the course of your career. This workshop discussed Decision trees, sensitivity analysis, conditional probability and risk analysis. Students are well equipped with application of such tools for decision making under uncertainty. Dr. Vinod Waiker has conducted the workshop.
Intra – college Cricket Tournament at DMIMS
An intra-college cricket tournament was organized by Datta Meghe Institute of Management Studies (DMIMS), at Atrey Layout Ground, Nagpur on 4th and 5th March 2022. This tournament was organized by the Students’ Welfare Cell of the Institute. All the students participated wholeheartedly in this tournament. Expressing her ecstasy on this occasion, Director of the institute Dr. Shiney Chib mentioned that such sporting activities encourage team work and build leadership qualities among the students, which are extremely essential for developing managerial quintessence. Faculty members Pritam Lanjewar and Shantanu Bose along with the members of the Students’ Welfare Cell organized this tournament.
Rotaract club of Datta Meghe Institute of Management Studies visited to old age home named Jeevan Suraksha Geriatric Hospital & Palliative Care Center, Ramdaspeth on 19th February 2022 to spent time and spread smile with the elders. Students also distributed 60 kg of flour to the old age home, each student contributed 2 Kg of flour themselves with the feeling of help and responsibility towards society. By keeping in mind the protocol of Covid 19 students took all the care while meeting the elders. Visiting Doctor and attendant helped to understand the daily routine and care needed by the elders.
Panel Discussion on “Analysis of Union Budget-2022-2023” Organized by DMIMS
A panel discussion on “Analysis of Union Budget 2022-2023 was organized virtually by Datta Meghe Institute of Management Studies (DMIMS) on 16th February 2022. Dr. Vinayak Deshpande, Vice-chancellor of Raisoni University, Amravati and Dr. C.A T.S. Rawal, MD T.S. Rawal & Co , were the panelists on this occasion. These experts threw light and gave their expert opinion on the finer nuances of fiscal policy and public finance. Speaking on the occasion Dr. Vinayak Deshpande mentioned that in the face of this global economic turmoil when the India’s GDP is still in shambles, it would have been better if the union finance minister could have allocated some more amount especially in agricultural and allied activities as well as in MANREGA. Still he upheld the budget by giving 6.5 marks out of 10, by saying that inspite of this adverse situation the finance minister has tried her level best to balance the annual financial statement for the year 2022-2023. Dr. Rawal spoke about the various aspects of the budget including the concept of capital expenditure and employment generation. At the same time he also pointed out the pros and cons about government policy of disinvestment and selling the profit making public sector unit. Director of DMIMS, Dr. Shiney Chib expressed her happiness for conducting such fruitful event for the students. The students of the institute participated wholeheartedly in this panel discussion. Datta Meghe Institute of Management Studies (DMIMS), conducted an Induction programme on 27th December, 2021 for the newly joined students of 1st year. Transitioning from basic education to professional education is one of the most challenging events in a students’ life. The reason for induction program is to help students to adjust and feel comfortable in the new environment, inculcate in them the culture of the institution and help them build pleasant relations with their new batchmates and the faculty members. The Induction program was a perfect mixture of learning & fun.

Datta Meghe Institute of Management Studies had organized expert Webinar workshop on ‘Learning’s From Gandhian Thought’ for the Third semester students on 20th October 2021 on occasion of 152nd Birth Anniversary of Mahtma Gandhi. The motive of the workshop was to imbibe the learning’s of Mahatma Gandhi and make students understand the concept of Gandhian Thought. Free Distribution of Masks
The Rotaract club of Datta Meghe Institute of Management Studies has organized a social drive ‘Free Distribution of masks’. The objective of the drive was to provide free masks to the underprivileged. The students of DMIMS prepared DIY masks and distributed to the underprivileged in their respective vicinity areas following the COVID-19 norms. The Program was conducted in the month of May 2021.
The Rotaract club of Datta Meghe Institute of Management Studies has organized a social drive ‘Dana Pani’. The objective of the drive was to provide food and water to the birds in this scorching summer. The students of DMIMS kept food and water for the birds at their residence in balconies or terrace. Such small gesture can make the lives of these small creatures easy happy & long and this is how we can give back to the nature. The drive was initiated in month of May with a commitment to carry out the same in future.
One Line slogan writing competition
Marketing Club of Datta Meghe Institute of Management Studies, Nagpur had organized an online “One Line slogan writing competition” on 11th May 2021. Dr. Subramaniam Seshan, was the Judge for the competition and awarded the cash prizes to the winners. First Prize awarded to Ms. Isha Chaware, Second Prize awarded to Ms. Sayali Karmore and Third Prize awarded to Ms. Sankita Khonde. The Extra effort invested by the members of Marketing club extra had reaped the benefit in terms of Mega success of the event
DMIMS took a positive initiative by organizing it’s first ever virtual intercollegiate event ‘LET’S DANCE BUDDY’ to rev up and cheer up the students in this ongoing pandemic. The event was made successful by the active participation of more then 30 colleges with more than 60 participants. Sahil Raut and Rupal Dambhare bagged the first position.While 1st runner up were Rohini Raikwar and Vaibhav Sathone. The 2nd runner up were Ankita Dhopte and Damini Khandale. All the winners were felicitated with cash prize of rupees 2000, 1500 and 1000 respectively. The event was led forward under the subtle guidance of the faculty incharge Dr. Hetal Gaglani followed with her team of co-ordinators Vaishnavi Bante, Nilay Meshram, Sneha Lokhande, Reeya Wasnik and Diksha Lolekar working on Technical, Digital and Marketing forums for the event. DMIMS promises to bring more such events to lift up your spirits and to bring positivity.

Dmims Students Rotract Club Feed Stray Animals
Rotaract Club of Datta Meghe Institute of Management studies had organized Feed stray animals drive. The DMIMS students took an initiative to feed stray animals during this pandemic to feed stray animals. Stray animals generally survive on leftovers from restaurants, dabbas, road side eating food corners etc. and are now starving as their regular sources of food are now shut down due to the lockdown. Club members undertook the task of feeding stray cattle and dogs facing starvation. As the saying goes, “Charity begins at home”, so we performed this activity near our homes keeping in mind lockdown rules and regulations.

DMIMS Students Rotaract Club “Say No to Plastic” ASR Activity by the DMIMS Rotaract Club
Rotaract Club of Datta Meghe Institute of Management studies took to the distribution of paper bags in a bid to support Maharashtra government’s plastic ban. The event which took place recently on 20th February 2021, the students of SMIMS came out on the streets to distribute paper bags to the nearby vendors. The students organised an awareness drive along with a ‘Paper Bag distribution’. They created awareness about leading a ‘plastic free life’. The motto at the event was ‘If you cannot reuse it, refuse it’. Around 1000 paper pags were distributed under this campaign.
E-Discussion on “Unveiling the future Employability skills”
Event Break the taboo was organized by DMIMS Rotract club on 1st September 2020.You have two hands, one to help yourself, the second to help others, your small action can make a big difference. The event was named “Break the taboo” just because we had to fill this gap and stopped being ashamed of talking about *Periods*. Coronavirus sparked period poverty crises in India, with school girls who usually depend on government supplies. Women in slum are using cloth during menstrual phase because of this pandemic. How badly it affects their health. Due to which it sparked us to promote sanitary pads and provide it in slum areas and needy. DMIMS students Rotract club DMIMS distributed sanitary napkins in two phase one in which we have distributed to girls and women in an Anganwadi near Powergrid, Jaripatka and second our members have distributed near their homes. Around 110 packets of sanitary napkins were distributed. The activity was conducted taking all necessary precautions of covid-19
Webinar– “’Give Wings To Your Dreams”
Rotaract club of DMIMS has hosted a event “One Promise to Nature”. The event aimed to join hands together and promised nature to take care of our environment like we take care of our siblings. Thus on the eve of rakshabandhan the students of DMIMS tied rakhi to trees and plants at their homes and promised to protect them for lifetime. Making connections with the natural world is what we can do in return for all the love they give us. Accordingly taking time to appreciate and care for the nature around us is very important, it is essential to play our part in ensuring nature will always be there to welcome us back. The activity carried out by the Rotaract club President Pratik Raut, Director Sohail Sheikh, Director Divya Dewani, Director Ankit Bamborde along with other Club Members who took efforts to make this event successful.
Kargil Vijay Diwas which is celebrated on 26th July every year in honour of the Kargil War’s Heroes. This day is celebrated in the Kargil-Dras sector and the national capital New Delhi, where the Prime Minister of India pays homage to the soldiers at Amar Jawan Jyoti at India Gate every year. On the occasion of this day Rotaract club of DMIMS had hosted Vijay Gaatha event in collaboration with Rotary Allahabad Midtown, Rotaract Club of United and with other Co-host Clubs. There were more than 500 people who attended this event on digital platform.
The Chief Guest of the event were Major General Gagan Deep Bakshi SM, VSM or G.D. Bakshi (born 1950) is a retired Indian army officer. He was from Jammu and Kashmir Rifles. He was awarded the Vishisht Seva Medal for commanding a battalion in the Kargil War. G.D.Bakshi addressed the participants regarding the actual scenario of war and current situation of borders. He also told what problems he faced when he was selected for army. His mother was not happy with this because G.D.Bakshi’s elder brother martyr himself for the country and that was such a very difficult time for their family. He then also told us how they won Indo-Pakistan war of 1971 and Kargil War.

The webinar was attended by 60 participants. The Webinar series was conducted from 15th June 2020 to 20th June 2020 with interest modules like Choosing a Right Career Path after Graduation, The Life-Changing Magic of Positive Thinking, Personality Development- Need of the Hour, From Failure to Success, Career Avenues In Emerging Fields: Logistics & Business Analytics and Guide to Personal Success. The modules were delivered by eminent trainers like Vidhi Sarkar–Personality & life coach from Singapore , Anita Rao- Joint Secretary VIA, Priya Joshi- HR Head MRR Soft. The participants of the webinar series were issued E-certificates.
On the occasion of International Women’s Day Rotaract club of Datta Meghe Institute of Management Studies has distributed a refreshment boxes as token of gratitude & love to a women sweepers of Nagpur Municipal Corporation. As it is rightly said that “Clean home is like a happy home, as clean street is like a happy city.” The sweepers play a significant role in maintaining the health and hygiene within city and they are the first persons who start their day to clean a streets so that we can take a breath in dust free environment. The activity was carried out in Chawni, Raj nagar, New colony, Old Katol naka Square, Githhi khadan, Friends Colony. The event was successfully coordinated by DMIMS Rotaract Club under the able guidance of Dr. Shiney Chib Director DMIMS and faculty Coordinator Dr. Rucha Lohi.

The Theme for the competition was social issues related to women. The Purpose of performing skit was to promote social awareness of what women are facing in society. Students conference in association with NIPM
Datta Meghe Institute of Management Studies organized a Students conference in association with NIPM, Nagpur Chapter on 28th Feb 2020.. The theme of conference was Life in Digital World ! The event was organized with the moto to enhance the journey of students development focused skilling effort and talent nurturing. Students of various UG Colleges of Nagpur had participated actively with innovative thoughts of Digital World.
Ganpati festival goes green in DMIMS
Festivals build group cohesiveness. Festivals inform, educate, bring people together, break the monotony of routine and give us a chance to reenergize our body, mind and spirit. It is celebrated with much fervor and joy. It has been observed that there is a rise in water, air and noise pollution during the celebration of festivals. An increase in pollution level is alarming and demands corrective action. The DMIMS family taking up the role of torch bearers paved the way for an eco friendly way to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi. The festivities commencing from the Ganpati ‘Sthapana’to Visarjan was a thought provoking one like banning the use of plaster of paris for the idol and immersion in lakes and ponds. The festivities started with the traditional arti by the Director, Dr.Shiney Chib accompanied by bhajans, melodiously performed by the children. The festival ended with lot of learning and the visarjan of our eco-friendly Lord Ganesha in the DMIMS premises.
Dahi handi: A mark of team work
A touch of glitter and a dash of glamour, laced with safety and security, marked the ‘dahi-handi’ celebrations in DMIMS. Every year DMIMS celebrates it with great zeal and enthusiasm.
8 Days Six Sigma Workshop at Datta Meghe Institute of Management Studies (DMIMS)
Six Sigma Workshop was organised at Datta Meghe Institute of Management Studies (DMIMS) for 08 days from 16th October till 23rd October 2019 for Operations and logistics specialisation students. Mr Sanjay Bhure, Founder and CEO of SB Management & Engineering Consulting was the subject expert of the workshop. Students found the workshop very insightful and the workshop helped students absorb the concept of six sigma through case based learning. Mr Ananta Pathak was the student coordinator of the workshop. The workshop successfully carried out under the able guidance and support of Dr Shiney Chib, Director DMIMS.
Report on Tableau Workshop
Tableau Workshop was organised at DMIMS for III sem semester students. Students actively participated in Data Analytics Workshop from 22.09.19 till 29.09.19. The motive behind this workshop was to make students learn and enhance their learning skills to learn how the data analysis is done with the help of excel and get the expertise in it. The workshop was highly appreciated by the students as it has been a great learning experience. Swacha Bharat Abhiayan Activity
Rotaract club of Datta Meghe Institute of Management Studies did the Cleaning under the Campaign of “Swacha Bharat Abhiayan” on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th Birth Anniversary in the area of Bhole Petrol Pump.
Mahatma Gandhi said “Sanitation is more important than independence”. He made cleanliness and sanitation an integral part of the Gandhian way of living. His dream was total sanitation for all. Cleanliness is most important for physical well-being and a healthy environment. Hence club decided this activity on this day for giving small tribute to Gandhiji but also a small step towards the clean India, because Swachh Bharat Abhiyan or Swachh Bharat Mission is a nation-wide campaign in India that aims to clean up the streets, roads and infrastructure of India’s cities, towns, urban and rural areas for making the country Neat and tidy.

Teacher In charge Dr. Rucha Lohi took special efforts to make the event successful under the guidance of Director of the Institute, Dr. Shiney Chib. Tanha Pola is a festival of children comes after a day of the “Pola” Festival. The festival is very important to the people of Maharashtra and they celebrate with great enthusiasm. The club made the decision to celebrate the Festival of “Tanha pola” among the children. The gifts containing school supplies were given to more than 180 children so that they will find it useful for their school purpose. The event was intended to celebrate on festival day to create a sense of help, belongingness and affection in the community. Stakeholders Meet at DMIMS
Stakeholder’s Meet was organised at Datta Meghe Institute of Management Studies (DMIMS) held on 03/05/19. Representative from Academia , Industry, Alumni , Students and their parents participated and provided inputs for growth and development of the institute .The meeting was a step to collect the feedback from the stake holders about the various activities conducted at DMIMS and also to take the suggestion from them, for the future activities. Footpath Shaala – 2nd & 3rd April, 2019
The Members of Rotract Club of Datta Meghe Institute of Management Studies visited and volunteered in Santra Market Centre of UPAY on 2nd & 3rd April, 2019 for teaching in Footpath Shaala- a project by Under Privileged Advancement By Youth (UPAY). UPAY is a Non-Governmental Organisation which works towards providing quality education to underprivileged children in India. Footpath Shaala is an initiative for the kids living on the footpath and doing some unskilled labor or literally begging for their bread & butter.
This activity was successfully conducted by the student coordinators Parag Hadke, Vishwas Vaidya and Aditi Khanorkar performed the activity with the help of other members Pranay Manekar, Ayush Bhoyar and Amit Wanjari at the NGO. The volunteers of Footpath Shala Mr.Ganesh Birajdar and Mr.Vishal Timande who supported to make the ASR activity successful.
The underprivileged children present there were between the age group of 5 years to 13years. Various activities were conducted for the children at the centre. Starting with interactive session with the children and teaching them some basics meditation techniques, telling them about hygiene and good habits, encouraging them to study more, then a singing and dance sessions held as well. A session of basic mathematics, word problems was taken to teach them how to apply Addition and Subtraction in real life scenario.
Panel Discussion on ‘Exploring Career Paths in MBA’ at Datta Meghe Institute of Management Studies Held
DMIMS organized a panel discussion on 13th March 2019 for the MBA students as a part of summer internship on the theme ‘Exploring Career Paths in MBA’. Panel consisted of industrial experts – Mr.Chirag Joshi, Branch Manager – Sharekhan, Mr. Chaitanya Kale, Manager HR – Dinshaw, Mr.Govind Chandak – Business Head – NSDM, Dr. Shiney Chib – Director, DMIMS. The interactive session involved the talks on the skill set one should possess to excel in their career graph and the path the students should adopt in that direction. The Panel emphasized on the Do’s and Don’ts, one should consider while selecting their electives. The session was very fruitful for the students.
NIPM students chapter of Datta Meghe Institute of Management studies have organised “Tea Talks” an expert discussion on topic ” Entrepreneurs – Business Startup”. The recourse person for this event was Mr. Baldev Singh Ravat founder of Founder – Think Value Kreation Pvt. Ltd., Founder – Resume It Up and co-founder of Bows By Rucha. The program was an open fourm where the speaker Mr. Rawat gave insights on ideas of Entrepreneurship along with some successful stories. The program was followed by a question-answer session and vote of thanks by the president of the forum.

A REPORT ON FREE MEDICAL CHECK-UP CAMP
A free medical health checkup camp for faculty, non-teaching staff and students was organized on 23 rd February 2019 at Datta Meghe Institute of Management Studies in association with Rotaract club. Camp was organized in association with Nelson Mother & Child Care Hospital. The 10 team members of Hospital including one Physician, one Dentist were in the campus.
Dr. Shiney Chib Director DMIMS welcomed Dr. Kharabe. Free Physical examination along with free blood sugar, Blood pressure and other checkups were provided by the Hospital. Approximate 200 people including the faculty, non-teaching staff and students came for the Health Checkup. Doctors provided consultation during the camp. Camp was successfully organized under the guidance of DMIMS, Director Dr. Shiney Chib & the camp was coordinated by Rotaract board members.

The Ganesh Utsav was hosted by the Datta Meghe Institute of Management Studies to promote the concept of SMART CITY in NAGPUR and to highlight the structure of FUTURE NAGPUR. A theme based presentation of the same was displayed in the Layout and the decoration was done by the students. Maha-prasad was held on 15th of September 2018, followed by Ganesh Visarjan. The students and members of the staff participated in the event with great enthusiasm and zeal and made it a successful event.
